The city

Rotterdam is the second most important city in the Netherlands, after Amsterdam. It’s situated in the West of the country and is only 30km from the sea. This has contributed to its port, known as Europort, becoming one of the most important in the world.

A very cosmopolitan city, its architecture plays an important role and has transformed it into an avant-garde, up-to-date city full of skyscrapers, earning it the nickname “The Manhattan of the Meuse” (the Meuse is the river that runs through the city).
