News about PerMondo

During the second quarter of 2012, the initiative sponsored by Mondo Agit changed its name to PerMondo; in other words, “for the world”. This is because it was confirmed that a translation agency named Mondolingua already existed in Austria.

Of course, it hasn’t been easy to drop the name we started with as it has formed part of the company’s actual initiative for so long.  However, we have decided to take advantage of the new impetus and change a few things.

Changes to PerMondo:

The creation of a forum for the initiative that will allow volunteers and participants to get involved and help each other directly. There will be two forums, one regarding linguistic matters and another regarding everything relating to freelancing and the creation of business (above all from the point of view of the translator or the interpreter.)
The forum will come into effect at the end of 2012 and will operate in different languages.

A profile on Facebook which, like the forum, is evidence of the new drive to open up the initiative to all those who form a part of it. This profile will allow everyone to communicate and exchange their opinions with each other.

The translations will continue being free, but the associations will be encouraged to pay something to volunteers. Should some money come for the translations, it will go directly to the voluntary translators.

There will be no limit to the number of words translated and, unlike what was happening at first, translations of both websites and texts will be carried out.

What won’t Change:

As always the free translation service will only be offered to not-for-profit organisations and initiatives.
