With simultaneous interpreting the interpreter translates the speech inside a booth at the same time as it is spoken so that the audience can follow the speech simultaneously through headphones. The interpreter must be a native speaker of the client’s language as well as be able to understand the language of the event to perfection.
This type of interpreting is typical of congresses, conferences, and in general, events where the audience does not share a common language.
Simultaneous interpreting is the most advanced and complicated form of interpreting with regards to the purely technically side. It is also the most dynamic and flexible form for participants.
